The BCCI has added two additional clubs ahead of the IPL 2022 season, bringing the total number of teams in the tournament to ten in 2023. Because the BCCI has adopted the same group stage and playoffs format as the IPL 2022, there will be a total of 74 league matches played in the tournament.
